We all saw that movie now didn't we ? Some of us even got the book for our birthdays . I remember reading the book before the movie came out. Oh how i imagined the chocolate fountain and the trees made of candy , the grass of mint sweets :) Since i am on my holiday i have decided to watch a movie a day and blog about it. No i am not going to blog about The movie itself BUT more of what the movie reflects and how does it reflect US in the real world. Movies aren't made for fun. To a certain extend a movie has its trades and a movie has its messages . Lets take one day at a time and one movie at a time to see what movies today REALLY tell us and what do they REALLY mean.

Life is not perfect BUT the people around us make us feel like it is ! that makes the world go round . that makes us go on everyday in our lives despite the shit we go thorugh. I have you guys to go trough it with me . and i have your shoulder to cry on . i love you guys !

Now its No PaIn No GaIn. its all seriousness and working harder . at times you may feel like giving up and at time you may tell yourself " what happen to just dancing for fun , why is it so difficult" Just remember its only that stage where everyone had to go through it . Trust me once you guys have finish with that hurdle you'll be on the roll. Just remember to NEVER give up . and never feel that you have done enough . do better ! aim higher :)

Yasmin Ahmad's new movie Talentime. After watching yesterday i only have one thing to say WOW ok maybe not one thing, but i just dont know where to start. Firstly the movie was so honest. WHY ? watching the movie ,ade me real is THIS IS MALAYSIA these are MALAYSIANS . We may be chinese , indian and malays BUT this is what we go through . At the end of the day WE want the same things in life. We want happiness , we want love , we want joy, we want fun, we want friends , we want friends , and we want relationships.
YES we all look different BUT Yasmin portrayed how different we really are. secondly the generalizations and stereotypes we have about each race and how we fight to get on top not realizing that hey if we do it this way , ONE WAY , TOGETHER it just might work. Yasmin used high school kids in this show and you know why ? NO not because it is just a show about TALENTIME in a particular high school and about bringing out talents of the youth BUT its because THEY are the future generation that will shape our country for a better tomorrow.
Thirdly, i guess what yasmin was trying to say was also YES indeed we all have talents and dreams and hopes and passions but behind it all we still have problems , families and , life still takes place and goes on.Forth, Yasmin brought out certain culture practices that i have in my life seen and now i know OH this is the indian culture OH this is the chinese culture and OH this is the malay culture.
Even though i am mix i still never got the chance to see all of there. For example at when mahesh's uncles cremation took place The practice and culture of it if i am not mistaken is only the men are allowed to go and cremate while the ladies stay at home after the home funereal takes place . NOW i actually got to see WHAT ACTUALLY happens in the cremation area and what are the practices and traditions done there.
ITS good to know ones culture and learn from it. as they said knowledge is power. NEXT , yasmin had the bravery and bring out certain generalizations and stereotypes that we tend to make on other races. BUT at the end of the day what Yasmin tried to say in the movie was... i think it is not US who make alll this generalizations about people but is other people that force us to make stereotypes about other people . i know i am making this sound very vague but pardon me for saying freedom of speech and writing is not something i believe in , in malaysia today . i am too young to end up anywhere , anytime ..
Talentime is a movie that when we watch , we can relate to .. YES it may be a form of entertainment to one level but to another , it may be realizations that we need to know and take notice off. Yasmin cannot do this on her own by making movies after movies we need to help one another . HELP make Malaysia a better place to live in..Todays generation of young people . you and me , we are all educated , we are all kowledgable . use what god gave us, help he help us make things better .
Yasmin also used new talents for talentime and i dare say some of them , are something for us to shout about . We have our very own holywood stars RIGHT under our noses. COME on tell you can actually act ass well as mahesh , pamela , syafie, jaclyn , and howard . We have every own peter jackson SHE IS YASMIN AHMAD HERSELF. we should start realising these people around us that we have today because they are the ones that will make Malaysia a better place to live in by education us , persuading us and teaching us THROUGH their god given TALENTS .
I know i am as guilty as hell when it comes to local talents . WE OVERLOOK THEM and take them for granted. GOSH we gota wake up Cause if we dont we are going to loose them to people who appreciates them ... ( mind you they are not malaysians the ones who appreciate them ) all the nominees that talentime got .... barely one was given to her on behalf of malaysia... whats happening to us . if we can notice and appreciate a bolywood actor which i think was a good thing i thing we should do the same for people like Yasmin .
what i say does not really matter la ... BUT please as a malaysian GO WATCH IT !!! LAUGH with Harith Iskandar , Cry with Mahesh and jaclyn :)

have you heard , a picture paints a thousand words , a dance tells a story and a holiday completes eternity. Those are the exact words of how i describe my experience in bali . Bali was not just an island . Bali was not just a holiday. Bali was not just and experience , but Bali was magnificent. I can tell many would second that ! I met Loads of great people in bali and got to spend time with great friends . I got to know some friends a little better , got to check out hot guys too ;) . what a life hehe
